A very warm welcome to the Takapuna Rugby Football Club

Based at Onewa Domain on Auckland’s North Shore, Takapuna Rugby Football Club has enjoyed Junior Rugby since before 1952.  We have a proud tradition of providing a supportive, fun filled rugby experience for kids and their families to enjoy. It’s no surprise we have continued to grow as a club as we remain committed to delivering on our mission statement which is “to foster, organise and promote rugby and associated activities at a welcoming and family orientated club”.

Whether you are new to the club or current member, you will find our culture at the club incredibly satisfying.  Takapuna is arguably the most successful North Harbour rugby club since the union’s inception and that success starts fairly and squarely with our Juniors.

This success is based on us catering for the needs of all kids that want to simply have fun and enjoy rugby. So whether you are a tiny tot starting out, a player converting from another sport or a returning player we are confident Takapuna will be the place for you.

In 2024, our Junior Players chose to come to Takapuna Rugby Football Club from many local schools in the North Harbour area including: Takapuna Primary, Milford Primary, Forrest Hill Primary, Campbells Bay Primary, Sunnynook Primary, Willow Park Primary, Northcote Primary, St Joseph’s School (Takapuna), St Mary’s School (Northcote), Bayswater Primary, Bayview Primary, Beachhaven School, Belmont Primary, Birkdale Primary, Birkenhead Primary, Devonport Primary, Glenfield Primary, Greenhithe Primary, Hauraki School, Hobsonville, Marlborough School, St Johns School (Mairangi Bay), Sunnybrae Primary, Torbay Primary and Northcross Primary.  Takapuna Normal Intermediate, Wairau Intermediate, Murrays Bay Intermediate, Rosmini College, Carmel College, Kristin School, Pinehurst & Northcote Intermediate.
