The Blues in the Burbs

Head on down to Takapuna Rugby Club to meet the Auckland Blues.

Place: Takapuna Rugby Football Club, Onewa Domain, Akoranga Drive, Northcote

The Blues are coming to picnic with fans in the North Shore this week.

They want to invite local communities to come out, bring a picnic, and meet some of the team. It’s called the Blues in the ‘burbs, brought to you by Barfoot & Thompson.

 The Blues are staging four Blues in the ‘burbs community events in four major regions of Auckland to give the players and the club the chance to get up close and personal with our communities.

 The first of these is on Wednesday 2 March at Takapuna Rugby Club starting from 6pm to 7.30pm. Just bring along your family and a picnic and meet some of the team.

There will be chance for kids to try their skills out with the boys, meet the team and get some autographs. There will be music from More FM and some giveaways from Barfoot & Thompson and the Blues, as well.

 “We want to reach out more to our communities. In the busy times for our club in the Super Rugby Championship it is sometimes challenging to find time to spend with our fans,” said Blues coach Tana Umaga.

 “Our team has been working so hard in pre-season and will continue to work really hard every day. But at the same time we want to spend time in our communities, the places we live, and at the rugby clubs that helped us in this game.

 “I hope you have the time to join us at the Blues in the ‘burbs.”
